A Little Announcement

Hi all.

You have no doubt noticed how quiet this place has been over the last few weeks, which I offer big apologies for. I've missed updating you all with the latest news and insights from Doctor Who. Unfortunately at the moment I'm quite ill and so I need to take some more time out. As you know, I run this place on my own so while I am away there is nobody to keep the news ticking over and with the Christmas Special coming up this is really bad timing, but I am going to try and come on with some new stuff around the airing and will hopefully be back to full posting brilliance from the new year.

In the meantime (another forum plug coming up) the forum is constantly being updated with all the latest news and spoilers so you are only one extra click away from all the good stuff, so be sure to keep visiting there for your fix until this place is back to proper functionality.

The Doctor In The TARDIS will be back, bigger and better than ever in just a few weeks so make sure you stick around.

Easter Special For 2011?

Peter Hoar has been announced as a director of Doctor Who Series 6 according to his online CV, but before some swift updates yesterday to hide some potential spoilers it revealed that he was to be taking the helm of a 60 minute Easter Special. Luckily, over on the forum one of our members managed to get a screen grab before it was changed.

Now, we know who is directing the first 4 episodes which would take us way beyond Easter, so do you think there has been a mix up on the CV or could there be a special episode being planned? I will let you speculate amongst yourselves.

Series 6 Updates

Lots of little tidbits of information has come to light this week about series 6, so here is a breakdown of whats been unveiled so far.

- Toby Whitehouse, writer of The Vampires Of Venice has been confirmed as writing an episode.

- Piers Wenger announced that there will be no classic villains returning this year.

- A new design for Mondas Cybermen is apparantly being worked on, which contradicts the above, relating to an egyption set episode that I reported on in July HERE

- Marshall Lancaster, who appeared in Coronation Street, Life On Mars and Ashes to Ashes has been cast in the Matthew Graham story as a man called Buzzer

- Filming has this week been taking place in Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff Castle, believed to be for the 2 parter 'The Rebel Flesh' and 'Gangers', which will reportedly see the Doctor being cloned.

New Christmas Pictures

Over on the forum today, River Song posted some pictures from this year's Christmas Special, which until today had never been seen. It looks like Eleven has taken a shine to even more headgear!

A Christmas Carol - Press Release

The BBC Press Release for th is years Christmas Special, A Christmas Carol, has revealed some more information about the upcoming episode and while there is little in there that is new, and the interviews are all old and have been read a hundred times over, there is some interesting plot stuff mentioned.
Its the deepest part of winter, the exact midpoint, Christmas Eve - halfway out of the dark. Amy and Rory are trapped on a stricken space liner that's plummeting through banks of thick icy fog to the surface of the planet below.

Only one man has the power to save them; only one man is in possession of a machine that can clear the fog and let them land safely.

That man is Kazran Sardick, a rich but lonely old miser who rules Sardicktown with a sky-mast of iron.

The Doctor's only chance of rescuing the ship's four thousand passengers is to save Kazran's soul and show him that life is worth living. For this he needs to go back, way back, to when Kazran was a boy with a life full of promise.

But can the Doctor put a song in Kazran's heart and love in his life, in time for Christmas? Can he bring him out of the dark?

Shadows Of The Vashta Nerada

Christmas Day is going to jam packed for all the fans of Doctor Who as the fourth and final game of the 2010 Adventure Games series is finally released.

Little is known about the story at the moment but the title has been revealed as Shadows of the Vashta Nerada, so it is certain to contain the invisible enemies not seen since 2008's Silence In The Library.
Kicking off immediately following the cliff-hanger ending of episode three, Shadows of the Vashta Nerada sees The Doctor and Amy materialise just south of London (and about a 1000 miles to the left) inside an aquatic sea-bed colony called Poseidon. The game features a breath-taking plot which surrounds a real-world conspiracy – and, of course, takes place at Christmas.
