Setting The Scene Poll Results

The Doctor, with his infinately spaced TARDIS can travel anywhere in time and space, but over the last few years he seems to have spent most of his time in Blighty. For the last 24 hours we have been asking you what settings you prefer to see the stories set in. The results are now in, and this is how you voted.

7% of people who voted said that they prefer to see stories set in the future. Less and less stories are being set in 'futuristic' setting these days, and many of the futuristic stories that we do get appear unchanged from present day with the exception of minor details.

15% of voters said that they prefer when stories are set on Present day Earth. The show has previously had the Doctor exhiled to Earth for entire seasons, and recent modern day stories include The Eleventh Hour and the Silurian two parter from series 5.

26% of the votes went in favour of historical settings. We have seen the Doctor going back as far as the creation of the Earth, but historical stories usually take place in more recent history. Recent historical stories include Victory of the Daleks and Vincent and the Doctor.

A massive 52% of voters however have said that they dont care about when the Doctor lands, but would like to see more alien planets. Due to production costs, alien planets are getting few and far between as they are expensive to create, and perhaps that is why there is a want for more. Recent visits to alien planets include in The Time Of Angels which looked a lot like Earth and 30 seconds at the beginning of The Pandorica Opens.

so there we have it. Moffat, if you are reading this then we want some more alien planets. I'm sure that should do the trick. Let us know what you think below.
