When a test flight of the new Kith Sunstorm ends in disaster, the Sirius Exhibition Station is plunged into a web of murder and intrigue. Someone – or something – is trying to re-ignite a war between the Varlon Empire and the Kith Oligarchy.
As the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance, only two investigators, the Doctor and Lucie, can hope to uncover the truth
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my most scathing review ever.
So what's good with it? Sheridan Smith and Paul McGann are on fine form as always.
But what's bad with it? Where do I start? The second series is brilliant but this is the rotton apple that pollutes it. The story itself is a self indulgent mess that tries very hard to be funny and satyrical and fails on both parts. Its very male oriented in its appeal and takes a very 'blokey' approach which although might suit some, wasn't to my tastes. But whether you are a fan of the audios or not, you can decide without listening if you would be interested because you all know the story already: Three men host a very popular racing show where they test drive the latest models and have blokey banter before the youngest of the trio has a crash which seriously injures him. Sound familiar? That's right folks, this audio is Top Gear for the Doctor Who fan. If the shameless rip off wasn't bad enough it also tries to be an exciting and funny parady but it really really isn't, which just makes it worse. The bad taste of including Richard Hammonds crash as part of the script also doesnt work and makes you want to cringe. The acting from the supporting cast is questionable despite some good names, but singer Duncan James puts in a particularly dodgy performance. If you like bad humour and Top Gear then this might be for you but personally this ranks as the worst audio I have ever listened to.
The Verdict: Total car crash - Max Warp gets 1/5 TARDIS's
