Torchwood Hasn't Lost Welsh Roots

After this weeks BFI screening of episode 1 of the new series of Torchwood: Miracle Day, Russell T Davies spoke out to reassure fans that Torchwood is still very much rooted in Wales. Speaking to BBC News he said:
I would never do a Torchwood that didn't have any links to Wales. In a time when budgets are tight, it's great to have an infusion of cash from America that we can have fun with and do some big brave stuff with. It starts in Wales, they go on the run across the United States, but they come back to Wales. I don't want people to think we've abandoned the homeland.
Fans on both sides of the pond had previously voiced concern about the co-production, which for the first year includes American broadcaster STARZ, especially after rumours first surfaced last year that the format would be sold to Fox and remade, but Wales may be taking a back seat this year, they are quick to confirm that it is still very much a part of the show.
