Skaro Revisited?

Moffat has made some obscure references in this months DWM magazine, which some people (secretly myself included) are thinking/hoping may mean that we will be seeing a return visit to Skaro.

When referring to the Doctor he mentions how he 'remembers being on Skaro with Leela' and how the production team were trying to figure out who has met the Daleks and Davros.

Whether this is idle chit chat on set that the Moff has decided to use to drive us crazy with speculation or hints at something to come is anyones guess, but for the moment lets treat it as a bit of fun yet wild speculation.

  1. Interesting. Leela never actually encountered the Daleks (not on screen, at least).

  2. I think it great Moffat is trying to tease us and get us to watch series 6. To be honest series 5 was not great. I liked River Song, but I thought the last episode Big Bang was rubbish. Moffatt needs to stop writing timey wimey stories. I would like to see the Time Lords back and I would like to find out if any other Time Lords or Gallifeyans survived the Time War. In terms of building up some mystery Moffat is great at that, but I am not sure if he can produce Dr Who classics. It would be nice if Skaro and the Daleks returned. There has been alot of talk on the nett about River Song, I think she maybe connected to Davros. She could be his daughter. No I doubt. I'd say she could be Leela's daughter.

  3. IMO series 5 was totally brill. The stories were amazing and fantastically thought-out, and I loved how certain ones tied in with eachother. (e.g., "Flesh and Blood" + "The Big Bang" when he's flashing back in time)

But on the topic of another Gallifreyan surviving the Time War, it's obvious to me River is a Time Lady. She can speak/write Gallifreyan, and everything she says and does leans toward evidence of her being his mother. A mother would call her son "Sweetie," know her son's real name, die for him, etc. And she's just way too old for him.
At least, that's how I see it. Obviously Moffat and the script writers are trying to make everyone think the entirely wrong thing. If they wanted to keep River's identity a secret, they would. They wouldn't throw in stupid remarks like, "Oh, River, I could kiss you!" and the cliche falling-on-top-of-eachother move. They're trolling the fans and they're falling for it, lmfao.
I'm gonna be giving a big, fat, "I TOLD YOU SO" when she turns out to NOT be his wife, and actually his mother.

Also, Vic, why would Moffat need to stop writing time travel stories in a show about time travel? It's what the thing's about.

  6. Sarah Jane went to Skaro (Genesis of the Daleks). I don't think Leela did.

  7. Perhaps the visit to Skaro will be a "Genesis of Davros" story?

  8. As far as the old style Daleks re-appearing (I personally did not like the new Daleks) it may be the born-again universe will be a plot device for their introduction (as well as for the Time Lords).
