Turning On The Christmas Lights

Some of you lucky people were able to get down to Cardiff last night to witness Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill turning on the cities lights for the official beginning of Christmas in the city, but for those of you not fortunate enough to get there, then here is the moment that the TARDIS team lit up the city

Utah Filming Details

A costing report apparantly from the production of the upcoming Utah location shooting for series 6 has been doing the rounds today and found its way over to our forum thanks to Sandiwich11. The sheet, amongst other things, indicates that filming will be taking place between 17th and 26th November and will be costing a fair amount of pennies. Or cents if you want to get into the American spirit.



Death Of The Doctor Breaks Record

Two weeks ago the Doctor turned up in the Sarah Jane Adventures for a little adventure of his own, and the story, which was penned by ex showrunner, Russell T Davies, proved to be a hit with the fans as it broke records for the CBBC channel and the two episodes became the highest and second highest rated programmes on the channel ever.

The story, which also featured the return of Katy Manning as Jo (Jones) Grant had 0.92 million watching part one and 0.96 million tuning in for part two. When the figures for the BBC repeat come in it should take both to well over 1.5m.

Series 5 Outtakes

There are lots of versions of this video doing the rounds, and the BBC are following them and removing them, so watch this one quickly while it still works. It has the cast of series 5 messing around, having fun and no doubt causing headaches for the crew as they fluff their lines and mess up scenes. Enjoy

First Torchwood Casting Announced

Arlene Tur, who has starred in Crash, Eat Pray Love and Greys Anatomy has reportedly won the role of Vera Juarez in the upcoming series of Torchwood: The New World. The news was reported on the forum today by The Fifth Doctor.

Return To Earth Clip

Nintendo TV have released a few clips and a short interview about the upcoming Doctor Who Wii release, Return to Earth. The video is below and the Doctor Who stuff starts at about 2:48.

Torchwood 4 Interview With RTD And Julie Gardner

Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner have given an interview about Torchwood 4 explaining how it came about, where they plan to take it and what's in store for the show after the next series.

Now, the interview is really long so you should GO HERE to read it all, but here is a little snippet for you.

The monster-of-the-week stories were brilliant, in their day, in Torchwood, but having discovered this new format, I think it’s more ambitious and intelligent. It allows you to stop and take pause and look at the world. Those ambitions are admirable. While I’m on the show, that will never stop. While the show keeps running, we’ll never go back to the week-to-week stories.

And here is another...

I think the show works very well as an examination of the human race because there’s not really many other races we can examine. So, yeah, it is about us. I think all great science fiction comes down to that, in the end. The best metaphors in Buffy came down to, “What’s it like to be in high school, as a kid?” It’s the same with Torchwood: The New World. It’s about us and our decisions and our lives, and how we live with each other and how we die with each other. That forms the core of the story.

Watch The Series 5 DVD Bonus Scenes Here

As many of you will know, the series 5 DVD release comes with two specially filmed sequences available only on the DVD, called Inside The TARDIS. The first is set between the events of Flesh and Stone and Vampires Of Venice and has the Doctor explaining to Amy about all his previous companions. You even get to see some really cool pictures.

The second is set at the end of The Eleventh Hour and has Amy questioning the Doctor about his look and the Doctor explaining about the TARDIS. Its actually really funny in parts.

Doctor Who Experience Information

Over the last day or so a lot of information and artist imagary has come to light about the new Doctor Who Experience which is launching in London in 2011 before moving to Cardiff in 2013. Over on the forum, Exterminate has posted some information about what to expect.

The Doctor Who Experience starts in London on Sunday 20th February 2011 at London’s Olympia Two venue (Hammersmith Road, London W14 8UX). Opening times are 10am-6pm daily.


Visitors will be invited to step through a crack in time to become the Doctor’s companion on an adventure. Their challenge will be to reunite the Doctor with the TARDIS whilst fending off threats from a Dalek spaceship and Weeping Angels along the way, before exploring the wonders of Doctor Who at an out of this world exhibition.

The Doctor Who Experience allows visitors to join the Doctor on a journey through time and space, encountering some of the best-loved and scariest monsters from the series. Special scenes filmed with current Doctor Matt Smith combine with amazing special effects and the chance to enter a recreation of the modern TARDIS interior topped off by a breathtaking 3D finale. The walk through experience is a fully contained interactive Doctor Who adventure.

Displays will include items never seen before including original costumes, the Tom Baker TARDIS police box and two authentic TARDIS sets from the eras of David Tennant and Peter Davison. The public will also be able to get up close and personal with iconic sets from recent series, including the Pandorica Box and Chair and confront numerous monsters including several generations of the Daleks and Cybermen as well as Silurians an Ice Warrior and a Zygon.
